I choose LOVE!
The undefeatable power
It’s easy to hate something or someone. Sadly it seems to be easier than to love or even just express love or honest liking in a world where there is so much pretend. Hate is strong and dangerous feeling, even just a simple thought. It is a wheel of destruction for those who hold on to it and what is scary is that there are the ones who feeds with it and it’s the only thing they willingly spread with joy. How empty their souls are? We rarely pay attention on our every day hateful feelings and easily deny them more than anything else, but we don’t miss to notice them in the others. Have anyone ever thought about how many times a day we say “I don’t like…”, “I hate…”. “I can’t stand…”, and I know it is mostly completely harmless, something we just say when something is not pleasing for us, but often words on which we don’t pay attention can hurt someone unintentionally.
In today’s world we are surrounded with so many bad things going on such as poverty, homelessness, hunger, destruction, wars, natural disasters, greed, vanity, selfishness, jealousness, lack of empathy, DEATH. The list can go on and it’s pretty dark. There is something very wrong behind every corner and it’s toxic. It is throwing a shadow on beauty and kindness that still exist out there. Maybe I am a dreamer but I’ll never stop believing that even a small gesture of good will can sometimes change somebody’s life. Now, just imagine if every single person in this world spare a moment to help just one other person…How many lives would be saved? If only for a minute everyone shake each other hand… the sound of guns would be silenced. Imagine how our decisions can affect others…for example… If someone can afford spending millions on buying third yacht and second private airplane, why not build a factories and shelters for homeless and save hundreds maybe thousands of human lives with those millions that seems to be just a pocket money for that someone. Instead of “influencing” young people by showing off useless few thousand worth tiny bag that can barely fit a lipstick while parents of that same youth are struggling to keep afloat each month with minimum wage and bring food to the table, why not using that “influence” to teach or promote something inspirational, helpful, encouraging for young people . If someone’s goal for the day is to troll someone who is hard working and trying his best at something he loves, why not taking that time to do the same and learn something new, or at least give a thumb up as a sign of support instead of intentionally hurting someone who didn’t deserve it and who he or she never met or know nothing about. What about the ones who think they are almost great as God and look at others from above judging just because they can, the ones who never walked in shoes of people they step on so they can seem taller…?!
The world is falling apart and I am truly and profoundly sad. We need to reach hands to each other anyway we can to make it better, to show that nothing can beat humanity. So … I wish that this day that we celebrate, not to be only for the lovers. I wish that on today’s Valentine we can all be friends, spread a word of love, share a smile as a gift, find inspiration in all the good people, amazing people, brave survivors, modest ones, strong and bright souls, follow the steps that can help you find your own way so you can help someone else who seem to be lost.
Don’t forget to say “I love you” to your loved ones. It means a world to them and you’ll be at peace knowing that they know. Don’t be scared to ask for forgiveness if you know you did something wrong or somehow hurt someone. Asking for forgiveness or admitting you’re wrong is not a sign of weakness. It is the right thing to do and it can only bring people together. Say honest “Thank you” when someone do something for you weather you asked for it or not. It is the simple way of showing gratitude. And… try let go of anger. Anger leads to hate and hate can bring only misery. Forgive instead or at least try.
I am not even close to be perfect and it is impossible to be. I am just a human with all the weaknesses and make mistakes as anyone else, but there is one thing that I do that keeps me from falling…I choose LOVE! No matter what , I’ll always choose love because love is divine and love always wins.
I am also very much in love with making art, so today I will celebrate the love for art too and joy of making it and chance to share it with world and at the same time witness all the magic that comes from other amazing artist’s minds and hearts. Art is something that brings joy and beauty into people’s lives. Art helps in healing process weather is painting, music, writing or any other shape of art that enriches our souls. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone here on Substack for sharing their work and inspiring others, for making my coffee breaks coloruful and fun and mostly for the support you’re gave to me.
